By George, I do believe it will rain tonight! We have had strong wind - it woke Cassie up from her nap and later startled her as she was playing! It gets so windy here, we're considering using wind energy to power our house :-) The clouds have blown in from the Pacific (or some Northern lake) and the temperature has dropped. No more mid-20s. Sigh. At least that means my car won't be an oven, what with the A/C broken.
I went outside and it smelled deliciously of summer storms! I love that sweet grass earth smell (no dude, not weed!). I have enjoyed our uninterupted 6 days of capris and sandal weather. One (of the many!) thing(s) that helped me fall in love with this place was the fact that it didn't rain as much as Vancouver. But with the ground in such need of water, I may have to start singing another tune. Soon I'll be singing in the rain! (ar, ar, ar).
Tonight as I was washing up the dishes I was looking out my window and the 2 chesnut and 1 bay horse in the back field were prancing and playing. I wondered if that was a rain dance? They say animals can feel the weather before humans can, so you just never know. While I had a great childhood in the city, Sometimes I really feel "behind" now that I live in the country. I have a healthy does of curiousity and I am constantly asking questions (mostly to myself and my good old friend "'Net"tie). But perhaps I wouldn't know the answers if I had grown up on a farm.
Well dear friends, you've been looking out my window with me for 21 days. The writing prompt was for 21 days and we have reached the end of the goal. I hope you have enjoyed the journey along with me! I chose not to post a picture every day so that you could imagine what you were seeing. Today, I again post no pictures so that the images in your mind are unmarred by what you see, similar to the way a movie wrecks a good book.
Blessings on you & yours!
ps. Ever wonder where that archaic saying "By George" comes from? I googled it and wiki answers told me this: "This is a minced oath, using George instead of Jesus. Was it Saint George or King George? Probably neither, just plain George." Huh. And I figured it was about King George. Never heard anyone ever say "By Jesus."

i have soooooo enjoyed this 21 day journey! thank you so much for taking it on. i loved the pictures and the 'unpictures'! think i may try a journal in the same vein ...it was interesting to read your humour, notice your inquiries and research (took me a while to figure out your friend 'net tie' but 'wiki' gave me the hint i needed!) and see that even ordinary days have intriguing, interesting and beautiful moments!
i shall miss you and your thoughts!
I am so so glad that you enjoyed this journey! It was great fun to write :-) I do hope you write your own 21 days out your window! It's an interesting challenge - I believe you will be pleasantly surprised!
