About 600 km North of St John's, in the small little town of Seal Cove, a group of 4 men broke the ice so that 3 trapped dolphins could swim free. One of them, Brandon Banks, was only 16. In his floating survival suit, he got in the freezing water and let the weaker dolphin rest on him. "...they would come up and rest their head on me and I would keep their head out of the water so they can breathe through their blowhole."Rodney Rice, 39, said: "You'd hear them crying every night." So these men did what no government agency could do in time; they freed the dolphins. It took them 3 hours to break the ice - they would ram their fibreglass boat into the ice and then jump out and break the ice physically. A labour intensive act of love.
With all the bad news in the world, I thought you could use a heartwarming story. For more uplifting news, check out my other blog (it's a little old tho): there IS a silver lining!

That is truly inspriring. Last night I watched a really depressing interview and then there is just bad news everywhere these days.
This is a very welcome smile.
I'm so glad you found it inspiring! I too find that there is just too much negative news out there. We need to try to focus on the positive, as hard as that can be!
